This was the first wine we made. The first ever. Made from grapes from the grandfather Zé Fazendeiro's vineyard, near Alcobaça, two east-south and south-west plots on clay-limestone soils, mostly composed of Fernão Pires and Vital, harvested by hand. There is no memory of such an early harvest in the Carris valleys but the early heat in the spring and a hot, dry summer this year of 2017 led the grapes to be ready weeks before usual. For many months we were suspicious of this wine, the aromas were hidden, the mouth ashamed, but we still decided to bottle it. After a year in the bottle, the wine began to show itself, gained complexity in the aroma and volume in the mouth. After 2 years of aging in bottle it now reaches the market.
