Description

Domaine Auguste Clape unquestionably produces the best wines in Cornas from the grapes planted on just over 4 hectares of vines, with a high average age, some being over 100 years old.

The wines are vinified traditionally, and then matured in oak barrels for 18 months, without using first-use barrels. In this way, their wines tend to be opaque in colour, rich in aromas and densely tannic when young. However, with age, the tannins evolve and develop a seductive perfume of creamy, spicy black fruits and complex flavour on the palate.
