Esporão Private Selection white was born in 2001 with the aim of challenging the classic profile of the great Alentejo wines. Made from the Sémillon grape variety, it was fermented and matured in new French oak barrels to enhance its rich and complex character.
The Esporão company was born in the Alentejo from the unconditional will to make the best wines. This motivation is the legacy of all their wines produced and the main reason they have extended the range to other products and territories.
Herdade do Esporão, located in the heart of the Alentejo, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, has unique conditions for agriculture - large temperature ranges, poor and varied soils and an extraordinary biodiversity that helps to produce in balance with the environment. With about 702 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and other crops enhanced by the Organic Production Mode, it currently includes about 40 grape varieties, 4 varieties of olives, orchards and vegetable gardens.
