2021 XXVI Talhas white
Description
XXVI Talhas branco revives an ancient tradition of preserving wine in clay amphorae beneath a layer of olive oil, paying tribute to practices from a time when amphorae were used to store wine for consumption throughout the year.
After fermentation and six months of ageing in amphora, a carefully selected portion of the wine is separated from the “mother” — the wine solids — and transferred to a sealed clay amphora, where it remains for a further year, protected by a layer of olive oil. This unique process gives the wine a distinctive expression deeply rooted in tradition.
The result is a wine of singular character that revives an ancestral practice, transporting us to another era through an authentic interpretation of amphora winemaking.
