XXVI Talhas
The age-old tradition of producing Vinho de TalhaXXVI Talhas
The age-old tradition of producing Vinho de TalhaThe XXVI Talhas project pays homage to the millennia-old tradition of carving wine. In Vila Alva, a typical village located in the heart of the Alentejo, there is a great culture and tradition of making wine using this artisanal method, introduced by the Romans over two thousand years ago.
The ‘know-how’ has been passed down from generation to generation, which has allowed this production technique to be a reality in this village to this day. With the reactivation of the old Adega do Mestre Daniel they are endeavouring to preserve, stimulate and promote this winemaking method which, for various reasons, has been declining in recent years. It is in this winery, in Vila Alva, that they produce carved wine according to traditional methods.
