Description

Red wine produced by Syrah grape variety, whose grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected. Using spontaneous fermentation and two-week tanning, it is aged for 6 months in French oak barrels. As such, it presents an intense ruby colour and an expressive nose, highlighting vanilla, spices and light toasted aromas. In the mouth it reveals fruit and good structure.

The Quinta da Ribeirinha is situated in Póvoa de Santarém, in the Tejo region. The passion for wine and, more than that, the constant dedication to the viticulture activity has been crossing the Cândido family for several generations. José Cândido, the patriarch of the family, developed his professional activity as a farmer from an early age, with wine being his main source of income. Some years later, José Cândido's activity is inherited by his son Joaquim Cândido, a doctor and passionate for vitiviniculture, who decided to support the family business, continuing with the plantation of new vineyard areas, building his own winery and, following the technological evolution, applying scientific methods in the production process. Shortly afterwards, two of his children, Mariana and Rui, an economist and biochemist by training, completed the team which today takes on the administrative functions of the company. Oenology is in the hands of César Machado.
