2018 Lavradores de Feitoria Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras red
Description
Quinta da Costa das Aguaneiras is a wine with a vivid, intense and deep red colour, produced with grapes from 30 and 60-year-old vines of the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca varieties. It was fermented in a granite press and aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
The nose is very fruity, intense and complex, with aromas of ripe red fruit such as blackberry, plum and a hint of cassis, with notes of dried fruit and vanilla from the ageing in wood. On the palate, the first sensation is soft, fresh, full of fruit and balanced. With soft tannins, it has good acidity and excellent structure, giving it a good, fresh and long finish. It promises great longevity and excellent evolution in the bottle.
Lavradores de Feitoria is a project, created in September 2000, which resulted from the union of 15 growers, owners of 18 Estates distributed by the best Douro terroirs, spread across the three sub-regions. It currently comprises 48 shareholders, of which 15 are grape growers, and 19 Estates, which together cover an area of 600 hectares of vineyards. In this way, Lavradores de Feitoria is a unique project of Douro associates, convinced of bringing together their knowledge and experience, innovation and tradition.
