2019 Herdade Papa Leite B51 white
Herdade Papa Leite B51 is a limited edition white wine, produced by the Moscatel, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Sémillon, and Verdelho grape varieties. It presents a golden yellow colour and delicate aromas, highlighting the notes of tropical fruit such as mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, combined with mild spice, coming from the aging in barrels for 18 months. In the mouth it is structured, finishing fresh, long, and persistent.
The Papa Leite Estate, located in Alter do Chão, in the heart of the Alto Alentejo, dates back to the 17th century and even today, one can still find traces of that time. After many families passed through there, it was Filipe Barreiros Cardoso who, in love with the property, acquired it, making an old dream of producing high-quality products come true with the support of his family and team. Thus the estate was expanded and revitalised, now boasting 320 hectares extended to the production of wine, olive oil, and cattle. The vines are planted in clay soils and the grapes are harvested at night and selected before entering the winery, where the production of wine with the best raw material is guaranteed.
