2020 Scala Coeli Viosinho white
Description
Obtained from the finest vinifications of Viosinho from the 2020 harvest, a less traditional grape variety in the region, this wine underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aged for 12 months on fine lees with periodic batonnage.
Scala Coeli owes its name to the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, commonly known as the Cartuxa Monastery, a place where the Carthusian monks lived in silence and prayer.
The Scala Coeli brand is based on the best vinifications of each year, of grape varieties less traditional to the Alentejo, with the first wine appearing in 2011.
