Description
This Vallado, produced exclusively from the Baga grape variety, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. It has a very complex aroma, with a predominance of wild berries and a toasted touch, provided by the wood in which it aged. On the palate, it's very smooth and round, where the wild fruits once again stand out, with a very fresh finish and a slight vegetal touch.
Quinta do Vallado is one of the most prestigious estates in the Douro, having belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known as Ferreirinha, and still remaining in the hands of her descendants. Vallado wines, unjustly forgotten for a time, have now regained their rightful place and are of great significance in the region's history, deserving to be at the forefront.
Established in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest in the region, situated near Régua, on the banks of the River Corgo. The management of this iconic estate is entrusted to João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of Ferreirinha, responsible for the company and winemaking, respectively.
