Bastardinho de Azeitão José Maria da Fonseca 40 years 50cl
Description
Of a very deep amber colour with a well-marked green halo and red background, it presents an extremely fruity aroma of almonds, hazelnuts, cloves, walnuts, figs, honey. Subtle, elegant, and of great balance. In the mouth, it is fresh, soft, and with an excellent sugar/acidity ratio. Very long finish. After long years of aging of the Bastardinho of Azeitão (Trousseau), came the time to prove this extraordinary nectar of the peninsula of Setúbal. For a long time it was done the 25 years, later the 20 years and after due to aging of the bases passed to the 30 years. This year, as it was not possible to keep the same profile, we changed to 40 years. Here the youngest harvest is 40 or so years old and the oldest around 80. This wine should be enjoyed with great rigour and solemnity as it is the last 2300 litres.
