The Quinta do Cardo, located in the Beira Interior region, sub-region of Castelo Rodrigo, is a property situated near this village. Its vineyards are cultivated at an average altitude of 750 meters and are protected by the Marofa and Castelo Rodrigo mountains, surrounded by the Douro, Coa, and Águeda rivers. With a total area of 180 hectares, of which 69 are dedicated to vine cultivation, all of them certified as organic production, the remaining hectares host an extensive cork oak reserve and spontaneous forest.

The first vineyards were planted in 1932, and over the years, the quality of Quinta do Cardo wines has been consistently recognized. In 2001, the Companhia das Quintas acquired the property and maintained the undeniable quality of the white wines, as well as showcasing the region's potential for producing high-quality red wines. With an uncommon style in Portugal, the red wines of Quinta do Cardo are characterized by balsamic notes, great freshness, and complexity.
