Red wine obtained from the Merlot and Syrah varieties. The grapes harvested by hand and careful selection, create this wine of spicy character with notes of ripe fruit. It ages for about 24 months in oak barrels, becoming a wine with a profile suitable for aging.
It was from 1700, that the Meireles Family started to cultivate grapes and produce wine in Celorico de Basto, a municipality located in the Province of Minho, northern region of Portugal. In 1980, Gonçalo Cristovam Meireles Dias, married to D. Angela Maria Meireles Dias, took over Quinta da Cerca, one of the beautiful properties of the Meireles Family. From this time onwards, they began to invest in the expansion of wine production in the Vinho Verde region, building a new winery with a greater capacity for wine production. Today, Adega Molares owns an area of approximately 50 hectares, producing red, white, and rosé wines.
