2020 Quinta Nova das Varandas Reserva red
概要
Quinta Nova das Varandas Reserva red is crafted from Touriga Nacional and Castelão grapes. The wine is aged for six months in French oak barrels followed by nine months in stainless steel tanks, achieving an elegant balance between fruit expression, structure and refinement.
It displays a deep garnet colour. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruit, fruit preserve, spices and coffee, complemented by delicate floral nuances and subtle smoky notes from oak ageing. On the palate, it is smooth and well-balanced, with lively acidity, firm tannins and impressive depth.
The finish is long, persistent and harmonious, reflecting the distinctive character of this Reserva.
Pitada Verde is a family-owned winery established in 2009 in the heart of Ribatejo, dedicated to producing quality wines in Portugal's Tejo Wine Region. With around 30 hectares of vineyards spread across the three Tejo sub-regions (Bairro, Charneca and Campo) the estate takes advantage of the area's diverse terroirs to craft authentic and well-balanced wines.
All grapes are grown under Integrated Production certification, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture. In the winery, gravity-fed winemaking techniques minimise mechanical intervention, preserving the purity of the fruit and the expression of each grape variety. Under the guidance of winemaker João Pedro Batista, each variety is vinified separately, resulting in wines that faithfully express the identity and richness of the Tejo region.
