After the first documented purchase of a vineyard parcel in Brauneberg on 17th April 1643, the company was officially founded in 1680, establishing a winemaking legacy with over 300 years of history. Since then, the family has followed the motto: "Great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar." In 1774, an elegant manor house was built, and in 1880, the modern winery was established, housing one of the largest collections of wooden casks in the Mosel. Today, the company is in its 9th generation, with Constantin MF Richter, from the 10th generation, actively involved in the business since 2012.
