Wines of Meursault, the capital of Burgundy's great white winesLocated in Meursault, one of Burgundy's most iconic villages and an absolute benchmark for the region's great white wines, Domaine Patrick Javillier is a family estate with a long tradition of winemaking. Meursault's reputation is based on the excellence of its white wines, whose diversity reflects the richness of the soils, the specific climatic conditions and the exposure of the vineyards.
The estate covers around 11 hectares in the Côte de Beaune, encompassing regional appellations, AOC Village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Production is mainly dedicated to the Chardonnay grape variety, with plots in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Aloxe-Corton, also including Pinot Noir red wines from Savigny-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses.
Vinification is conducted with a focus on expressing the terroir, with each plot vinified separately. The white wines are aged in oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood adjusted to each origin, and are bottled after 16 to 18 months, with minimal intervention.
Thanks to his vast experience, Patrick Javillier has also created emblematic cuvées through the selection and blending of complementary parcels, notably Meursault Les Clousots and Meursault Cuvée Tête de Murger, references of the Domaine's elegance and identity.
