2015 Herdade do Rocim Clay Aged red
Description
Clay Aged red wine is an expression of the Vidigeira terroir and has been aged for 16 months in clay amphorae. The aroma is dense with expressive balsamic and wild fruit notes, combined with a subtle minerality with hints of graphite. On the palate, it is polished and velvety, with lots of fruit, firm and lively tannins, a smooth acidity and a persistent finish, revealing great ageing potential.
Between Vidigueira and Cuba, in Baixo Alentejo, Herdade do Rocim has around 70 hectares of vines, 53 of which are red varieties and the remaining 17 are white varieties. Herdade do Rocim is characterised by its clayey, sandy soils and its criteria are aimed at the production of high-quality grapes.
The winery, a structural element of the project, combines wine production with the aesthetic quality of its architecture, acting as a marketing and promotional element, qualifying the region.
