2023 Adega do Fundão Alpedrinha red
Description
Alpedrinha red is produced from the Jaen, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, and Touriga Nacional grape varieties. After 12 months of ageing in stainless steel tanks, 6 months in French oak barrels, and 6 months in bottle, it presents a deep ruby colour with aromas of ripe fruit, slightly stewed, accompanied by herbal hints. On the palate, it is structured, with marked and persistent tannins.
Adega do Fundão was founded in 1949 by 30 winegrowers from the Beira Interior region and is located in Cova da Beira, an area with a winemaking tradition that dates back to the 2nd century and the Roman settlements of that time. The vineyards are planted along the Serra da Gardunha, which allows the production of grapes that impart a richness, freshness, and unparalleled exuberance to the wines.
